As part of the Momentum Strategy, Commerzbank is expanding significantly in nearshore locations like Poland. In the target picture, each non-banking branch consists of more than 1000 staff members of various business segments, with most of them being part of Commerzbank’s IT Organization.

Your tasks
The DTC Head may act as COO of the Branch and they role is to ensure sustainable and efficient operations of all units in the location, fulfill regulatory requirements in the country, and act as a single point of contact and advisor for all organizational functions. The COO is responsible for overseeing the operational structure, ensuring compliance, driving growth, and aligning the branch’s execution with the Commerzbank global goals. This role includes enhancing operational excellence, managing cross-border challenges, and fostering a high-performing team.
The DTC Head serves as an overarching local manager across all clusters, single point of contact, and advisor for GS-DTS and the Commerzbank’s IT organization. The DTC Head represents Commerzbank in the branch location and establishes close relationships with regional and headquarters teams, customers, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
As DTC Head:
- Strategic Leadership: Sharpen the branch's operational strategies, align plans with corporate goals to enhance efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction, while pursuing new business opportunities consistent with the company’s vision and priorities.
- Collaboration: Help synchronize efforts among DTC clusters and stakeholders, ensuring digital solutions align with overarching business strategies. Represent Commerzbank at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as a key contact for clusters, Key area offices and line functions, proactively driving their DTC-related activities, including workforce planning (FTE-planning). Locally and in cooperation with other locations and the headquarters.
- Operational Excellence: Promote consistency across clusters within the location, share best practices, and facilitate implementing standardized processes and methods across all DTCs.
- Talent Management: Build and lead a diverse team of multidisciplinary professionals while ensuring their continuous development. Inspire a culture of innovation and collaboration, implementing programs to refine employee skills and promote career growth.
As COO of Branch:
- Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring compliance, process optimization, and alignment with organizational standards and industry practices. Oversee performance metrics and drive initiatives to improve processes, infrastructure, and overall branch functionality.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Guarantee adherence to local regulations, legal standards, and data protection protocols, while identifying and managing risks associated with digital projects and IT operations. Act as the primary contact for local partners, suppliers, and regulators.
- Cost Control: Oversee the DTC budget and cost allocations while ensuring activities are carried out efficiently and compliant with audit and risk standards. Provide regular updates on financial and operational branch performance to senior leadership.
- Market Expertise: Provide valuable insights into local market trends, regulations, and employment conditions, advising organizational leadership on effectively addressing these specifics.
Your profile
- Education: Degree-level education preferably in Business Administration, Management, or Computer Science.
- Experience:
- Proven track record in leadership roles with a strong ability to lead and inspire diverse teams, drive innovation, and successfully organize operations.
- Demonstrated experience in scaling growth and overseeing operational efficiency in international environments.
- Proficiency in developing budgets and managing comprehensive financial plans.
- Proven experience in leading projects across multiple locations and functions, coordinating diverse stakeholders to deliver outcomes in international, cross functional environments.
- Knowledge in leading legal entities.
- Leadership: Exceptional ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams across a broad range of functions.
- Analytical Skills: Solid capability to analyze challenges, anticipate business needs, and solve problems strategically using technology.
- Intercultural Skills: Experience in working in international environments, understanding cultural differences and forming international teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to create sustainable long-term plans while optimizing present operations and responding effectively to market trends.
- Communication: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including addressing cross-cultural contexts.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Strong appreciation for working within cross-cultural environments and addressing local nuances effectively.
- Adaptability: Agile and flexible in responding to shifting priorities and dynamic market conditions.
- Languages: Fluent in English; Polish and German are an advantage.
Location: Lodz, Poland
