Your tasks
- Based in London or Frankfurt and reporting to the Head of FI and Public Sector Origination in the Bonds division of Capital Markets, the individual selected for this position will be responsible for providing advice to banks and public sector clients active in the primary bond market, with a focus on Emerging Markets.
- Your primary task will be to win mandates for new bond issues, by addressing your clients’ funding, capital, sustainable and regulatory needs and offering them access to Commerzbank’s capabilities in the debt capital markets (i.e. from bond origination to distribution, post-transaction coverage and ancillary products).
- As a member of Bonds, you will be working closely with Syndicate and the EMTN Desk for your day-to-day business. You will also maintain strong alignment with other departments and desks and in particular the Relationship Managers and Local Representatives, but also with Derivatives and other divisions, to jointly develop new business opportunities and synergies.
- The role will include, but not be limited to, the preparation of issuance recommendations (e.g. as part of a Request for Proposal), pricing and market updates, presentations, investor roadshows and relevant regulatory topics for your clients.
- You will also take initiative in the unit’s digitalisation efforts.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree; Masters level of studies preferred with a concentration / Major in finance or other relevant fields
- Superior knowledge of specific area of responsibility – ideally perennial of proven market experience in capital markets, with client-facing responsibilities
- Knowledge of debt instruments as well as related derivatives, ideally with focus in Emerging Markets countries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong team spirit and work ethic
- Fundamental knowledge of the banking regulatory environment and its recent evolution
- Fluency in English; a further language is an added positive attribute
- Full proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Office
- Ability to take ownership of short- and long-term projects, work to a deadline and take initiative
- Strong IT and digital capability
- Willingness to travel
