Welcome to the team: Senior Full Stack Developer with Java & React (m/f/diverse)
Your tasks
- Developing new application features and enhance existing solutions based on business and technical requirements;
- Designing, implementing and maintaining Java-based backend services, APIs and integrations supporting the products owned by your team;
- Contributing to the modernization and cloud transformation of existing applications, including refactoring, re-architecting and adapting solutions for cloud environments;
- Participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design to implementation, testing, deployment and production support;
- Collaborating closely with business experts, product owners, architects, DevOps engineers and QA specialists to deliver reliable, secure and scalable software solutions;
- Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving application defects, incidents, performance bottlenecks and operational issues;
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, solution designs and engineering artefacts;
- Developing and maintaining automated tests to ensure software quality, stability and maintainability;
- Contributing to code reviews, refactoring activities, dependency management and continuous improvement of engineering standards and development practices;
- Supporting CI/CD processes, release activities and operational excellence initiatives;
- Sharin knowledge within the team and for senior candidates, mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to technical decision-making;
- Working in an agile environment and actively participate in refinement, planning, review and alignment activities;
- Promoting a culture of ownership, collaboration, code quality, maintainability and continuous improvement.
Your Profile
- Proven experience with developing and maintaining backend services and reusable components using Java and Spring Boot. Understand frontend technologies (Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript);
- Strong experience in analyzing requirements and design maintainable backend solutions using microservice-based architecture and proven design patterns;
- Proven experience in designing, implementing and maintaining REST APIs based on internal standards and integration requirements;
- Strong experience in ensuring code quality and stability through automated technical tests for implemented changes;
- Experience with supporting application migration and modernization initiatives by adapting, refactoring and optimizing applications for cloud environments while applying cloud-native design principles;
- Good knowledge in developing and support Java services running in containerized environments such as Kubernetes;
- Proven experience in applying secure coding principles and security requirements during software development;
- Experience with developing and maintaining integrations using messaging technologies such as Kafka;
- Knowledge on using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, code quality and development efficiency;
- Great communication skills as well as self-motivation;
- Fluency in English – both written and spoken;
- University degree in IT or relevant.

In the role of Software Engineer (Java), you will contribute to the design, development, modernization and continuous improvement of digital banking solutions for Commerzbank's Corporate Clients Digital Channels cluster. You will primarily develop and maintain Java-based backend services, APIs and integrations that support business-critical products and customer-facing digital channels.
