Senior engineer responsible for translating business needs into scalable data solutions on Google Cloud: architecture, implementation, CI/CD, and mentoring colleagues (junior in general or new to GCP/Big Data). 

Your tasks

  • Requirements & Design
    • Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives and define data solution requirements.
    • Design Google Cloud data architectures and data models for large-scale (big data) scenarios.
  • Implementation
    • Build and optimize data pipelines using BigQuery and other GCP services.
    • Implement infrastructure as code with Terraform.
    • Develop and maintain Airflow DAGs in Python, including task dependencies, parameterization, error handling, and integration with GCP services.
    • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data solutions and infrastructure.
  • Quality, Operations & Leadership
    • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and performance across the data lifecycle.
    • Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve production data solutions.
    • Act as technical lead for GCP-based data solutions; mentor colleagues, especially junior engineers or those new to GCP/Big Data.
    • Maintain clear technical documentation.

Your Profile

  • Experience
    • Several years of hands-on Google Cloud data engineering.
    • Proven lead engineer or key contributor on multi-year GCP data projects.
    • Experience mentoring or coaching other engineers.
  • Skills
    • Strong SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT design.
    • Deep experience with BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Terraform.
    • Practical Python proficiency for developing Airflow workflows and data pipeline components.
    • CI/CD and modern DevOps practices for data solutions.
  • Capabilities
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication with business and technical stakeholders.
    • Ownership mindset, able to provide technical direction and support team development.
    • Agile team experience and continuous learning mindset.
  • Language
    • Fluent English (written and spoken).
