Cloud Platform Engineer (API) (m/f/diverse)

• Extensive experience with cloud technologies, ideally Google Cloud and/or Azure;
• Strong background in DevOps practices and tools, with hands-on experience in TeamCity and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions (e.g., Terraform, Helm);
• Expertise in OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and API Security principles;
• Strong proficiency in Java or another Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language, including knowledge of integration patterns, resilient API development, and build tools like Maven;
• In-depth knowledge of API Gateway or API Management Platforms. Familiarity with the Apigee platform is a significant advantage;
• Competence in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes;
• Adept at implementing test automation frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Cucumber/Gherkin).
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and familiarity with Cassandra database are beneficial.
• University degree in IT or relevant.

The Business Connectivity Cluster drives Commerzbank's transformation into a digital technology leader by developing and advancing essential integration technologies, including APIs, TokenManager, Kafka, MFT, and MCP. These tools form the backbone of our digital infrastructure, enabling innovative and seamless customer solutions in the German market.

As a Cloud Platform Engineer (API), you will join us to build and operate a brand-new, cloud-native API management platform. This platform is central to Commerzbank’s digital transformation. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping and enhancing our Apigee-based API gateway, connecting multiple cloud environments and laying the technical foundation that will also facilitate secure and scalable AI communication. You’ll collaborate closely with Cloud, Network, and Security experts, driving automation, observability, and reliability across our critical platform infrastructure.
