Responsible for the implementation, development and management of the CHF bond syndicate desk in coordination with the global Bonds Value Chain. Ensure essential procedures are implemented and standards of practice maintained.
Your tasks
- Close cooperation with and support of origination and sales teams across asset classes and jurisdictions: ongoing market monitoring, trade idea generation, active client pitching in coordination with Origination and Sales to win mandates in CHF and promote CHF deal flow
- Responsible for execution of CHF bond mandates
- Bonds primary reporting on P/L and risk limits for CHF business
- Taking care of internal and external regulations to ensure CHF business is compliant
Specific job definition
- Win and execute CHF syndicated bond mandates from target client base
- Implementation, coordination, monitoring and improvement of the CHF primary bond business across the whole value chain
- Support Origination proactively in winning new CHF bond mandates in conjunction with EMTN/PP-desk, Transaction Management, Legal department, Event Management etc.
- Develop connections and communication to CHF bond primary market participants: issuers, syndicate managers, sales, investors, traders
- Represent Commerzbank in the Swiss bond market and related communication with the press
- Responsible and accountable for managing the primary trading book with regards to positions mark-to-market, P/L and risk compliant with the given risk parameters
- Ensure accurate documentation, internal approvals and deal booking in line with policies and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to process enhancements, digital tools and reporting improvements to strengthen execution quality and data integrity
- Mentor junior syndicate colleagues and interns, supporting their development in deal execution, market analysis and investor/issuer communication
Your profile
- Masters level of studies or higher: concentration / major in finance or other relevant fields
- Minimum 5 years of directly relevant DCM / Syndicate experience
- Demonstrable track record of leading CHF primary market transactions
- Established senior relationships with global/domestic issuers and investors active in the CHF primary market
- Strong commercial judgement, credibility and market presence to further develop the CHF franchise
- Excellent knowledge of bond documentation, regulatory requirements and internal control frameworks relevant to CHF primary markets
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market data, surveys and orderbook dynamics in real time
- Ability to take responsibility for one’s work, work to a deadline and take initiative
- Fluency in German; English to a high level; other European languages are positive attributes
- Willingness to travel
