We are looking for a new colleague to join us as a Python developer in the Market Risk Calculations & Testing team. This team is responsible for developing software solutions that enable our business partners to monitor and manage financial risks caused by market fluctuations. These tools play a crucial role in ensuring the bank’s risk exposure stays within acceptable limits and complies with regulatory requirements.

Our team consists of 18 talented developers and business analysts, located across Frankfurt and Prague. While the majority of the team, including the Product Owner, is based in Frankfurt, strong communication skills in English are essential for effective collaboration. Knowledge of Czech or German would be an added advantage, but they are not mandatory. In Prague, you'll be joining a smaller local sub-team of 3 colleagues (2 developers and 1 business analyst) along with other developers and business analysts working in related Market Risk teams. 

Your tasks

  • Enhancing  the testing platform for Market Risk (Python engine & JavaScript Web frameworks, Oracle database) to improve the user experience, the efficiency of the application and onboarding new data sources
  • Defect analysis and code reviews
  • Code maintenance in code versioning systems GIT/Bitbucket, possibly changes to our CI/CD pipeline
  • 3rd level support for the application

Your profile

  •  At least 3 years of experience in Python development with Django·      
  • SQL knowledge (ideally Oracle)·      
  • JavaScript web development knowledge with jQuery and ajax – knowledge on React is an advantage
  • Knowledge of REST API design and development
  • English at least on B2 level – both written and spoken

Nice to have:·      

  • Affinity to Market Risk and knowledge of data analysis (e.g. pandas, polars, numpy for data analysis) and business workflow and data modelling is a big plus
  • Knowledge of financial and derivative products (FX, IR, Credit, Commodities)
  • Experience with code quality tools – SonarQube
  • Knowledge of excel/pdf report generation in Python – openpyxl, XlsxWriter…
