We are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our Counterparty Risk team. You will be responsible for safeguarding the bank’s capital and enabling profitable client business. Within Commerzbank our cluster provides efficient counterparty risk management for derivatives and financing business. The team Trade Assessment & Methodology is a vital part in this process as a central point of contact for the bank and playing an overarching role within the cluster.
Your tasks
- Perform exposure calculations for structured products for Limit & Exposure Management.
- Perform calculations for XVAs and CCR RWA.
- Assess and conduct pre-deal risk assessments for non-standard products and agreements and maintain close contact with trading departments.
- Represent the Counterparty Risk cluster in the New Product Process.
- Collaborate with business analysts and IT in the cluster to initiate changes and process improvements.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and methodological background for any type of calculation done in the cluster to all stakeholders affected by Counterparty Risk.
- Contribute to continuous automation and innovation in the team and cluster.
Your profile
- University degree in (financial) mathematics or similar quantitative disciplines.
- Multiple years of professional experience in Counterparty Risk management and modelling and evaluating derivative products.
- Excellent knowledge of banking products and ability to work with trading systems.
- Experience with IMM (Internal Model Method) for Counterparty Risk using a Monte Carlo simulation engine.
- Familiarity with general economic principles and valuation models across all asset classes.
- Strong comprehension of regulatory requirements relevant for Counterparty Risk.
- Good technological understanding (IT technology, databases) and experience in process automation with proficiency in relevant tools such as SQL, Python or AI usage.
- Great collaborator with outstanding communication skills.
- Highly motivated self-starter with attention to detail and quality
- Fluent communication skills in German and English.
