Chapter Lead DevOps Data / AI / Cloud (Digital Channels) (m/f/diverse)

    Your tasks

    Leadership & People Management:

    • Disciplinary leading of the DevOps Chapter, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and development.
    • Building a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational ownership.
    • Coaching and mentor DevOps engineers and develop future leaders.
    • With your strong expertise in Cloud native / Data Science or AI technologies, you are also actively will be forming and developing your team (~ 10-20 people).

    IT Modernisation & Technical Strategy:

    • Driving IT modernisation initiatives including cloud-native architectures, CI/CD maturity, and automation.
    • Contributing to the IT Modernisation Competence Center and re-architecture initiatives.
    • Defining and ensure DevOps standards and best practices.

    Stable Operations & Reliability:

    • Ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant operation across DEV/TEST/PROD.
    • Owning incident, problem, and monitoring processes.
    • Acting as escalation point for critical production issues.

    Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

    • Working closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, and Chapter Leads.
    • Actively contributing to cluster-level strategy and decision-making.

    Your profile

    • Leadership skills: Guide and mentor Chapter members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and career growth. Ensure individual and team development.
    • People Management Skills: Address conflicts within the team promptly and constructively to maintain focus and harmony, Provide regular, constructive feedback to team members to guide their improvement. Understand team members’ challenges and foster trust and accountability.
    • 5+ years of experience in application operations and/or DevOps responsibilities
    • Technical expertise in cloud platforms (GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices, monitoring tools and incident management
    • Strong Communication Skills
    • Problem management, escalation, and stakeholder management
    • Adaptability and Growth Mindset
    • English language knowledge
    • German language knowledge will be considered as advantage
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

    As part of this strategy, Commerzbank continues the expansion of its Digital Technology Center in Sofia, Bulgaria. We need motivated people who will join us on this journey and we are looking for a Chapter Lead in our Digital Channels team.

    You will lead and develop a high-performing DevOps team, combining people leadership, IT modernisation, and operational excellence. Your mission is to ensure that our digital channels are continuously modernized using cloud-native technologies, using Azure or Google with the focus on Data Engineering and AI capabilities while maintaining robust, resilient, and compliant application operations.

    Will be In close collaboration with Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, and other Chapters, you actively shape the technical evolution of the cluster and contribute hands-on to strategic initiatives where leadership presence and deep DevOps expertise are required.
