Cloud Platform Engineer (Securities and Derivatives Trading Platforms) (m/f/diverse)

• Core competency in the engineering and deployment of Kubernetes clusters and applications.
• Proven experience with cloud service providers such as Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.  This includes engineering the platforms themselves, and frequently used platform capabilities such as object storage, file storage, and serverless compute.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, services, and best practices.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and configuration management such as Ansible, Helm, Kustomize.
• Broad experience with Linux, including scripting and programming skills in Bash, Python or other higher-level scripting languages.
• Core competency in networking, both cloud and on-premise.  This includes TCP/IP, VPCs/VNets, routing, packet filtering, subnetting, load balancers and proxies, API gateways and DNS management.
• Hands on experience with Kubernetes networking, including Services, Ingress, Network Policies, Gateway API, and experience with troubleshooting network issues in Kubernetes clusters.
• Knowledge of Information Security protocols, tools, best practices, including TLS/certificates, OAuth2, and cryptographic best practices.
• Excellent collaboration and team building skills.

As part of the Commerzbank Delivery Organisation, the cluster “Securities and derivatives trading platforms” is responsible for the design, delivery and operation of Commerzbank’s primary and secondary trading business in rates, credit and equity products. As such we form a team of 160+ people working from 4 locations in different countries. Currently we cover almost 80 IT systems.

This role is for a Cloud Platform Engineer that is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based capabilities to support business applications in an investment bank. It involves working closely with software developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based technology environments.
