In Commerzbank Digital Technology Centre Prague, we are transforming a traditional bank into a digital agile enterprise! We provide a wide range of various IT solutions, software development, and services in the area of application operation and infrastructure.
This is a vacancy for an Experienced Software Engineer with several years hands-on development of software solutions, a very good understanding of cloud native technologies and a very sharp analytic mindset.
The role requires the ability to see through development of new products and processes, from analysis and design through to implementation, documentation, and support.
Your tasks
- Helping clarify user requirements, developing, operating, and supporting robust, high-performance IT components, that follow best practice in terms of architecture, information security, configuration, and resource consumption.
- Developing and implementing Full / Automated testing of new versions of software, building test cases, conducting test plans, analyzing results, and drawing conclusions from back testing and market activities.
- Providing 3rd Line support to existing systems to resolve problems, educate 1st/2nd Line and continually improve the functionality and service levels to clients.
- Facilitating information flow with other team members to both acquire and disseminate business and technical knowledge with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Understanding and influence IT components in use in Commerzbank, identifying functionality that can be re-used and improved by in-house development.
Your profile

- Experience working in FinTech companies preferable.
- Strong communicator, able to work effectively with senior traders and IT developers.
Essential technical knowledge:
- 3+ years development experience in software development, preferably Python.
- 3+ years of experience working with modern DBMS, e.g. MS SQL Server, and DB scripting.
- 1+ experience working on Native Cloud development, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Good understanding and somewhat experienced on with IaaS (GCP built-in services) / PaaS (GCP resources)
- Practical understanding of design patterns and best practices in software engineering.
- Hands-on experience of GIT / Bitbucket.
- BIG PLUS: Good knowledge of C#.NET and/or willingness to work with it.
