We are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our growing Counterparty Risk team. You will be responsible for safeguarding the bank’s capital and enable profitable client business. You ensure a correct processing and reporting of Counterparty Risk relevant data and exposures.
In Commerzbank Counterparty Risk Cluster provides efficient derivatives and financing business counterparty risk management. We utilize modern agile working methods to maximize our output to the costumer business. Our larger team is split into two sub teams one in Frankfurt and one in Prague, which collaborate together.
Your tasks
Risk Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor and report counterparty, settlement, and issuer risk across the Traded Products portfolio.
- Investigate and escalate limit breaches in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct exposure monitoring and produce detailed reports on key risk areas, including indirect credit risk, concentration risk, and wrong-way risk.
Data Analysis and Quality Assurance
- Perform plausibility and sanity checks on data sourced from front-office trading systems (e.g., Murex, Summit, Apex) and support systems.
- Conduct comprehensive collateral data checks and investigate discrepancies, specifically in the context of netting and collateral flagging processes.
Initial Margin Dispute Management
- Handle bilateral Initial Margin dispute analysis and resolution under ISDA SIMM and GRID.
- Foster effective communication with counterparties to resolve dispute cases.
- Identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses and develop strategies to mitigate them appropriately.
System Improvement and Testing
- Determine required enhancements to current systems and specify these improvements in collaboration with IT teams.
- Provide close operational support for the implementation of process upgrades to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for scheduled system releases as well as emergency updates within the Counterparty Risk Infrastructure.
Your profile
Technical
- MS Office - Excel (including basics of VBA)
- SQL (at least basic knowledge is appreciated)
- Optional - Python
Personal
- University degree in business / finance administration or related field of study.
- At least basic knowledge of financial derivatives and interest in field of financial derivatives.
- Previous experience in Counterparty risk management (or related fields eg. Credit/ Market risk) is appreciated.
- Conceptual approach, good coordination and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and team spirit.
- Good communication skills in English.
