As a Chapter Lead within the Data and Reporting Applications cluster, you act as a line manager of the chapter and play a key role in building and managing our team in Prague. You will report directly to the Cluster Lead based in Frankfurt.

The Chapter will include up to 15 Development Engineers located in Prag, covering a broad range of skills including, but not limited to, ETL developers, Oracle DB experts, Java or Python developers.

The developers in the Chapter work in agile teams comprising of Product Owner, Business Experts and Scrum Master. In the agile set up, the developers will work largely autonomously, independently and self-organized and without the day-to-day guidance of the chapter lead.

In your role as Chapter Lead you are responsible for providing developers to the agile teams of the Commerzbank Cluster Delivery Organization and liaising with the Product Owners to coordinate the personnel requirements.

Your tasks

  • Leading and building a team of developers located in Prague
  • Taking responsibility for the recruiting and development of the team members
  • Ensuring that future-ready professional and methodological training is provided in own area of responsibility; creating conditions for knowledge transfer; potentially willing to take on training projects, speaker functions and mentorships
  • Active role model function for the agile methodology and a strong focus on customers and service
  • Responsible for making available the necessary staff for the various cells, both in terms of quality and numbers, and ongoing coordination with the product owners with regard to their personnel requirements and the material work processes
  • Ensuring and optimizing productivity, efficiency and the quality of work within the chapter
  • Cooperate in cross-cluster management
  • Support for young talents
  • Ensuring that team members in own area of responsibility always meet compliance requirements; strict compliance with regulatory training requirements; actively promoting awareness of compliance-related issues among the staff
  • Alongside the manager function, you will also perform the professional tasks associated with the functions of development engineer

Your profile

We prefer candidates with:

  • Ability to organize, coordinate and steer professional activities, considering commercial, efficiency and quality aspects; taking initiative in the steering of cross-functional activities
  • Knack for design and management of the ongoing development of several new and innovative products / processes to initiate, implement and optimize future-ready digital structures
  • Skill for early recognition of impending problems; gaining an understanding of overall context and consequences above and beyond the urgent problem; development of new and innovative problem-solving approaches.
  • Development of short to medium-term strategies, including forecasting of necessary resources
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Collaboration and team-building experience.
  • Strong knowledge of application integration and deployment.
  • A solid background in software development ETL, Oracle, JAVA or Python development with sound knowledge of network and infrastructure.
  • Agile Software Development/Scrum experience.

  • Strong leadership experience (min. 3 years).
