Welcome to the team: Senior DevOps Engineer (IBM MQ) (m/f/diverse)
Your tasks
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design effective migration strategies from IBM MQ to Kafka;
- Proposing an appropriate technical architecture and discussing the design within the team;
- Performing hands-on configuration, installation, and tuning of IBM MQ and Kafka environments;
- Developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools to streamline the migration process;
- Supporting customers during migration to the new version of IBM MQ and Kafka;
- Creating a comprising technical documentation;
- Monitoring and analyzing system performance, capacity, and availability, making recommendations for improvements as needed;
- Developing dashboards [ELK + Prometheus stack] and alerting to proactively monitor and mitigate incidents [HPSM] and reduce resolution times.
Your profile
- Good knowledge of MQs (IBM MQ and/or Kafka), IBM Sterling File Gateway;
- Good skills of Linux/Unix scripting;
- High knowledge of IT architectures, DevOps best practices;
- Experience migrating infrastructure from IBM MQ to other messaging systems;
- Self-motivated, fast learner, willing to go outside of comfort zone and learn new things;
- Fluency in English;
- University degree in IT or relevant.

This is positioning Commerzbank in the German market as the first port of call for simple and innovative API-based customer solutions.
As Senior DevOps Engineer you will play a critical role in migrating our existing messaging infrastructure to the new version of IBM MQ and from IBM MQ to Kafka. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the migration process, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to our business operations.
