About the Role:
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will collaborate closely with Risk Managers to enhance our Profit & Loss (P&L) application. Your day-to-day interactions with them will leverage your excellent communication skills and stakeholder management expertise. Your deep knowledge of financial markets and valuations will help you to prioritize tasks and understand our complex infrastructure. To analyze requirements and draft user stories for developers, hands-on experience with complex SQLs is invaluable. Your analytical insights will be transformed into viable features by developers, which you will then test and propel into production.

Your tasks

Our P&L system, CPLM, supports global capital markets and treasury trading activities. It aggregates valuation data from various front-office systems and applies complex business logic to generate P&L reports for diverse stakeholders. Utilized by over 200 P&L controllers and risk managers worldwide, CPLM facilitates daily controlling and reporting processes with comprehensive analysis and workflow functionalities. Strategically, we aim to enhance user efficiency and integrate additional business processes into the P&L platform.


As a Senior Business Analyst, you will become one of the pillars on whom our team will rely on and work closely with the Product Owner. Facilitating the entire software development lifecycle—right from stakeholder requirement analysis, drafting business specifications, creating test cases, performing tests, to communicating with users until the final production release.


You will be part of a cross-functional team (15 people) comprising business analysts, developers, and application support specialists who use agile methods to maintain and develop the P&L system. Despite the complexity of the tasks, the team maintains a friendly atmosphere while driving at a high development pace.

How You Will Add Value:

  • Interactions: Engage closely with P&L stakeholders to comprehend their processes and needs.
  • Innovate: Generate ideas to enhance end-to-end business processes.
  • Specification Translation: Convert business requirements into functional specifications for the P&L system.
  • Interfacing: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, system developers, and application support teams.
  • Feature Testing: Evaluate new features and functionalities to ensure they meet requirements and provide the intended user experience.
  • Dependency Analysis: Analyze and manage interfaces with other systems.
  • User Support: Offer support to end-users including issue management and root cause analysis.
  • Product Ownership: Serve as the deputy to the Product Owner, becoming a reliable partner for our business users.

 

Your profile

  • University degree (or equivalent) in computer science, economics, econometrics, finance, statistics, mathematics, or relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a business analyst, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • High proficiency in data analysis using SQL, preferably with PL SQL experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and instruments (FX, IR, credit, commodities).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; self-starter, motivated team player with superb communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of business workflows and data modeling.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Focus on delivering timely and effective solutions with minimum supervision.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
