The key area Big Data and Advanced Analytics (BDAA) at Commerzbank generates value from data. This involves presence of tremendous amounts of data as well as employment of carefully selected algorithms in order to provide products and services.
In addition, as a delivery organization, with our AI Platforms & Services, we provide the foundation for a successful AI and cloud strategy for the company.
The Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) cell is part of BDAA. CCoE fosters a secure, scalable, and standardized public cloud for BDAA.
The team serves three content pillars: information security, data protection, and cloud.
Latter focuses on public cloud, again threefold including
Use Case cloud journey support in form of engineering, architecture, and regulatory assistance, providing the CCoE Cloud Enterprise Suite, and finally internal and external knowledge sharing.
We are looking for strong support in the CCoE team.
Your tasks
As a Cloud Engineer you will work in the team that is responsible for all cross-cutting cloud topics.
You will be supporting our lead cloud and security architects in the development of cloud-native applications, mentoring others in technical concepts, and implementing security practices for future cloud-based use cases.

Further Tasks Include:
- Support CCoE's Use Cases during their cloud migration
- Develop and maintain Use Case overarching cloud-native applications and solutions
- Leverage capabilities of latest cloud technologies to explore future-proof software solutions
- Develop and Integrate security/compliance/data-protection standards and controls into the public cloud Environment
- Communicate Commerzbank's needs & pain points to Cloud Partners (Google, Microsoft)
- Work closely with other members of the CCoE team and assist in designing secure software solutions
- Drive cloud adoption as knowledge multiplier – across BDAA and strategic uses cases in Commerzbank
Your profile
- Technically affine in the cloud environment: You not only have a strong IT affinity in general, but also already have knowledge in the Google Cloud Platform. You will also have knowledge of the design and architecture of cloud solutions as well as software development standards such as Git, CI/CD, microservices or APIs. You also have knowledge of programming with Python and Infrastructure as Code via Terraform, and an idea of containerization, networking, applications, and information security principles.
- Communicative: You have good communication and presentation skills as well as a willingness to actively network with colleagues. You may already be familiar with agile methods and tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.). You can master all this with very good English (German welcome) skills.
- Mindset: You are highly solution -oriented and creative, equipped with an agile mindset and the ability to focus on your current goals. You are mostly self-organized without losing sight of the big picture.
- Bonus: In addition, knowledge of Microsoft Azure, existing knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker or experience in programming with JavaScript or Java would be beneficial.
