Senior MS SQL Database Engineer - Innovate in Counterparty Risk

If so, join our Counterparty Risk team at Commerzbank, where you will work on innovative, self-developed systems and collaborate with international teams of software engineers, business analysts, and risk quants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and improve systems to assess and mitigate counterparty risks.
- Work on data staging systems and creating standardized data models.
- Utilize internal systems to calculate economic and regulatory capital and monitor trading risks.
- Implement new functionalities and extend existing services/components.
- Collaborate with product owners and software engineers to agree on requirements and solutions.
- Conduct code, architecture, and design reviews to ensure high-quality software.
- Support production environments as 3rd level support.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Extensive experience in database programming, particularly with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proven track record in designing and maintaining in-house developed ETL processes.
- Strong knowledge of current IT architectures, design patterns, and best practices.
- Interest in and preferably knowledge in the area of investment banking products.
Personal Skills:
- Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
- Leadership skills with experience acting as a team leader.
- No fear of taking responsibility and making decisions.
Technical Skills:
- Over 5 years of professional experience in database environments.
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server: Extensive experience with MS SQL, Transact-SQL, and Stored Procedures is critical.
- Experience with LINUX/UNIX scripting, Perl, Python.
- Familiarity with tools like GIT, Subversion, JIRA, Octane, UC4, PowerDesigner, Confluence.
- Knowledge of technical and data modeling.
