Your tasks
Commerzbank AG, Milan Branch offers a six-month internship within the Institutional Clients & Transaction Banking Sales Department.
The successful candidate will join the local Trade Finance & Cash Management Sales Team, supporting Trade and Cash Advisors in servicing and developing the Bank’s corporate client portfolio.
The internship provides hands-on exposure to Trade Finance and Cash Management products and services, offering insight into how an international bank supports corporate clients in managing international trade, working capital, liquidity and payment flows.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare client presentations, market analyses and internal briefing materials
- Support client portfolio reviews and business development initiatives
- Analyse client needs and identify Trade Finance and Cash Management opportunities
- Monitor macroeconomic, geopolitical and industry developments affecting Italian corporates and international trade
- Gain exposure to Trade Finance solutions, including bank guarantees, documentary credits and collections
- Support Cash Management activities, including payments, liquidity management and account solutions
- Contribute to reporting, data analysis and monitoring of commercial activities
- Cooperate with local colleagues and international product specialists across the Commerzbank network
The internship will enable the candidate to develop analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills in an international and collaborative environment.
Reporting line: Local Head of Transaction Banking, Italy.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
- Degree, or be close to completing a degree, in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Management Engineering or a related field
- Interest in Trade Finance, Cash Management, corporate treasury, foreign trade or transaction banking
- Good understanding of current economic and geopolitical developments affecting businesses
- Strong interest in international business and corporate banking
- Excellent written and spoken Italian and English
- Knowledge of German or another European language is an advantage
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Good command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Team-oriented mindset, curiosity, initiative and strong communication skills
