Assist the International Desk Relationship Managers to establish, manage and maintain long-term cooperative, effective and profitable inbound client relationships usually in conjunction with Lead RM.

  • Identify potential new clients for marketing either directly or via proactive contact to Lead RM.
  • Support the RMs as “client owners” and first line of defence for all regulatory requirements in relation to client onboarding, account opening and ongoing know your customer/know your business (“KYC”) related topics for allocated portfolio. Ensure that KYC files are fully and correctly maintained and up to date with appropriate approvals for all business/product lines conducted with the client (including client group entities).
  • Liaise internally with Client Lifecycle Management and Compliance as necessary to facilitate periodic client and transaction specific reviews including the KYC refresh cycle. Monitor and initiate upcoming KYC refreshes.
  • Operate in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and take on the responsibility as first line of defence for all major risks the bank could face. Maintain knowledge of relevant AML/Financial Crime rules, policies and guidelines including local regulations and laws. Complete training as necessary/required to maintain this knowledge. Obtain appropriate regulatory approvals to allow engagement in client dialogue e.g. Mifid related products and certification under FCA Senior Managers Regime.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Culture of Integrity and all policies relating to Anti Bribery & Corruption (ABC) measures and regulatory requirements. Manage personal behaviours in line with the Bank’s Code of Conduct and report activities (e.g. PA Dealing, gifts giving/receiving, conflicts, directorships etc) in a timely manner in the appropriate systems. Complete ABC training as required.
  • Manage/oversee the client onboarding and set-up process including account opening (AOP) and electronic banking systems. Maintain AOP records. Alongside RM where appropriate, identify clients’ requirements and cross selling opportunities.
  • Take primary responsibility and act as point of contact for own client portfolio; monitoring of client activities and revenues and ongoing      controlling of portfolio and individual client revenues/P&L and business volumes to ensure profitable business and accurate recording.
  • Assist coordination of the local client service team and ensure timely information flows. Support the client service team including product specialists where required in the professional preparation, and follow up of customer pitches.
  • Liaise with domestic and German/local market credit departments and product specialists to ensure appropriate credit capacity is available as agreed for inbound clients. Coordinate local facility documentation as required in accordance with terms for credit provided by the lead branch and in conjunction with Legal department taking local law and practices into consideration. Maintain appropriate CBS records to ensure timely transfer price reporting.
  • Monitor daily client activity in the relevant bank systems to ensure timely payment/transaction flows within agreed limits and with due attention to compliance and financial crime issues.
  • Monitor forthcoming meetings and prepare briefing materials in advance. Attend client meetings as necessary and ensure timely and thorough follow up.
  • Liaise with German/other network colleagues, Trade Finance & Cash Management, GS-BO and other relevant departments as necessary for client servicing. Maintain a regular dialogue with the International Sales Centre.
  • Alignment of annual relationship planning process with lead and International Desk RMs.
  • Report to Head of International Desk. Assist in support of more junior or less experienced colleagues and trainees including on the job training assistance as required/directed.
  • Degree level education and/or commercial/vocational training with professional qualifications in banking. Experienced in working with client coverage and/or specialist product teams appropriate to inbound clients.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant regulations (local and international) including awareness of civil, tax and company law and appropriate accounting rules.
  • German and English to a high standard.
